If in the two German stages of Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen there had been great balance, today the music has changed. Already in the first jump Ryoyu Kobayashi proved to be not one, but two steps above all opponents, highlighting a mental strength worthy of a great champion.

Halfway through the race the Japanese mortgaged the victory in the Tournée, as his main rival, Markus Eisenbichler, paid a good 22.8 points. Kobayashi jumped to the limits of perfection, supported an excellent telemark at 136.5 m, trimming 10.2 points to the first of the pursuers Stefan Kraft. The Austrian, landed at 129 m and helped by compensation, preceded 2.3 lengths Andreas Stjernen. The Slovenian Timi Zajc and the German Stephan Leyhe closed in 4th and 5th place.
In the second act Kobayashi then found another good jump, starting from a lower pole. The twenty-two of Hachimantai has thus achieved the fourth consecutive victory in the World Cup, the seventh of the season. On Sunday in Bischofhofen he will try to bring the golden eagle back to Japan and hit the third big slam in history.
After three races, Kobayashi leads the Tournée ranking with a good 45 points on Eisenbichler (today 13th) and 49 on Andreas Stjernen. Today the Norwegian got the first podium of the season, finishing in third place behind Stefan Kraft, back on levels of excellence after the resounding gap in Garmisch. The Austrian paid 12.8 points from the winner of the day, Stjernen instead ended up at 24.3 points.
They closed at the foot of the podium the German Stephan Leyhe 4th and Kamil Stoch 5th, who preceded the surprising Japanese Yukiya Sato 6th. They also entered the top 10, Killian Peier 7th, Richard Freitag 8th, Roman Koudelka 9th and Timi Zajc 10th.
