Dawid Kubacki was a bit of a surprise in qualifying on the Große Olympiaschanze. The Pole was able to land at 135.5 m despite the wind behind him, thus beating Ryoyu Kobayashi by 5 tenths. The leader of the Tournée and the general classification went to 140 m with more favorable wind conditions, but he paid duty in judges' assessments, partial in which he lost six points.
Close to the two closed Kamil Stoch, seemed to grow compared to yesterday's race. The owner of the golden eagle supported an excellent telemark at 135.5 m, collecting a unanimous 19 from the judges, which allowed him to conquer the third place at 1.7 points from the tread.
Markus Eisenbichler (135.5 m) 4th and Andreas Stjernen (135 m) 5 ° were also confirmed on good levels, while Piotr Zyla and Stefan Kraft finished in 13th and 30th place respectively. Excellent test instead for Alex Insam (125 m) that got the same score of the Austrian.
