The races at that Zakopane weekend gave birth to the second team competition scheduled in the calendar of the World Cup ski jumping, after that held in Klingenthal in December. If Germany had won the Poles, today the situation has been reversed with the Teutonic victorious in Poland.

The biggest minus for Slovenians about the first component: Tepes was competitive to the maximum of the potential in the first jump, while in the second, recorded around the point K, he lost those fundamental points that could be worth even the ultimate success.
Fourth place for Austria (Gregor Schlierenzauer Andreas Kofler, manuel fettner and Michael Hayboeck), unable to replicate the top 3 of Klingenthal: the absence of Stefan Kraft was decisive, in fact his replacement, Schlierenzauer, was the worst the entire team, even if a second positive performance bodes well for the rest of the year.
Then we find opaque Norway (Johann Andre Forfang, Tom Hilde, Anders Fannemel and Daniel Andre Tande): the only one that appeared capable of battling for the upper tiers of the rankings was Tande, while his companions were not able to put the winning move to get a podium lastly quite a ways away.
Continues the dark period for the Japanese team. The eighth place today is just the latest in a series of negative results, which began already last summer. Ryoyu Kobayashi, Taku Takeuchi, Daiki Ito and Noriaki Kasai were beaten by the Czech Republic and even from Russia.
In the last two teams we have excelled on all Viktor Polasek and Evgeniy Klimov: the first is reaching the levels they had expected from the beginning of winter, and even appears to be the best of a team in chiaroscuro; the second was confirmed as one of the top 20 of the main circuit and has allowed Russia to enter the second round.
Yet another disappointment brought as a dowry from Finland: today's ninth place was the result of a team not up to the World Cup, where the best was confirmed, once again, the thirty-nine Janne Ahonen. The signals are anything but positive in view of the home World Cup in Lahti.
Tomorrow there will be the individual competition from 16.00, also in the temple of Zakopane, which will start the Italians Davide Bresadola and Sebastian Colloredo (retired now). The next team event is scheduled in a week at that Willingen.
