The twenty-two of Hachimantai is the second Japanese to win the Tournée of the 4 Trampolines and the third athlete to conquer the same edition all the stages of the legendary competition.

The first series was characterized by the wind behind it, which did not allow athletes to achieve striking measures.
The longest jump was in fact that of Dawid Kubacki, landed at 138 m. The Polish, who in qualifying had even reached 145 m (record of the trampoline), but closed the first part of the race in second place, only two tenths from Markus Eisenbichler (137 m). Stefan Kraft also took the first two steps, thrust up to 134 m with slightly harder wind conditions and detached from the leader of 3 lengths and Ryoyu Kobayashi, 4th to 4 points from the summit.
In the decisive series the young Japanese has made a leap to the limits of perfection, landing at 137.5 m with excellent telemark. This performance was unattainable for the three athletes who preceded him. One after the other Kraft, Kubacki and Eisenbichler were paraded behind him and so Kobayashi hit the Grand Slam, the third in history to succeed after Sven Hannawald in 2002 and Kamil Stoch last year.
A good Kraft ended the race in the square of honor, on the podium in three races out of four but out of the top positions of the Tournée due to the gap in Garmisch. The Austrian paid 14.6 points from the winner and put 1.5 points behind him, Stephan Leyhe, recovering from 11th place. The German, thanks to an excellent jump of 137 m, also rose on the lowest step of the Tournée standings, preceded also by Markus Eisenbichler, 4th of the day to 5 tenths from the top 3.
In 5th position was the Czech Roman Koudelka, who in the next races will certainly aim for the podium. The Norwegians Granerud and Johansson, 6th and 8th respectively, the Swiss Peier 7th, the German Geiger 9th and the Austrian Daniel Huber 10th entered the top 10. At the end of the first series the only blue at the Alex Insam was eliminated.
