The 2021/22 Men's Ski Jumping World Cup opened in Nizhny Tagil this afternoon. Qualifying for tomorrow's race was dominated by the Polish legend, who trimmed over ten points to the competition. Absent the blue team.

The Italians have in fact decided to continue their preparation and will make their debut in the second stage, scheduled in Ruka (Finland) between 26 and 28 November. Qualification for tomorrow's race (first series at 16:00 Italian time) was strongly influenced by the wind conditions and immediately gave great surprises, both among the qualified and among the eliminated.
In the end the best score was clearly that of Kamil Stoch who with a jump of 135 m trimmed over ten points to Slovenian Anze Lanisek (129 m) and Daniel Huber (127.5 m). Two other possible protagonists of the season also made a good impression: Ryoyu Kobayashi (4th) and Karl Geiger (5th). On the other hand, the winner of the last crystal ball, Halvor Egner Granerud, finished 24th, who decided to play with his cards covered after two good training jumps.
Of note is the return to the race of Daniel Andre Tande, returning after the terrifying fall of Planica which took place last March and today is 44th. Among the fifty qualified also two carneadi of the World Cup: the Turkish Ipcioglu and the Romanian Feldorean. On the other hand, some eliminations were sensational, above all those of Stefan Kraft, who seemed in excellent shape in the training jumps but very unfortunate with the wind. In addition to the Austrian, the Slovenians Domen Prevc and Zajc did not pass the cut either.
