On Saturday, in the first of the two races scheduled on the HS 135 in Predazzo, the Ryoyu Kobayashi show was staged. With two jumps of 135 m and 136 m (record of the trampoline) had in fact trimmed 26.5 points to Dawid Kubacki 2nd and 32.1 to Kamil Stoch 3rd, fourth place instead for Stefan Kraft.
The Japanese had therefore risen to 6 consecutive wins in the World Cup, equaling Janne Ahonen, Matti Hautamäki, Thomas Morgenstern and Gregor Schlierenzauer.
In Race 2 the twenty-two year old from Hachimantai had the chance to beat this record and enter the history of the discipline. But the "curse of the seventh victory" also struck him, which did not go beyond the seventh place.
It was Dawid Kubacki who, with two jumps of 129.5 m and 131.5 m, won the first victory in the World Cup. The Pole, first in the middle of the race with a minimum advantage over Kobayashi, in the second series got the best score again, finishing with 13.9 points ahead of Stefan Kraft. He climbed the lowest step of the podium Kamil Stoch.
In the general standings Ryoyu Kobayashi is firmly in command with 1092 points. The first of the pursuers is Kamil Stoch (624), Piotr Zyla is third at 591.
