Stoch closes a triumphant season in beauty, Stjernen wins the flight Cup

Tenth success in seasonal competitions in the first level for the Polish who, after securing the second crystal ball of his career, today has won the Planica 7. Andreas Stjernen has instead imposed on the ranking of flight on skis.

At the last competition of the season took part the best 30 in the overall standings of the World Cup, or rather the best 31, as the absence of the Slovenian Timi Zajc (30th) opened the door to Pius Paschke and Taku Takeuchi , on a par with 31st place. At the end of the first series there was therefore a eliminated, the 'Austrian Manuel Fettner. A series that was won by Kamil Stoch, who arrived 245 m from a lower pole than his opponents, except for Robert Johansson, who also left from pole 6, and not 7, but landed at 237 m. This measure led him to third place, 15 points behind the Polish and 1.2 points from compatriot Tande, second with a jump of 243.5 m. Great measures also came from Stefan Kraft 4th with 243 m and from Johann Andre Forfang 6th with 240.5 m, between the two he entered a surprising Junshiro Kobayashi. In the second act the wind conditions are slightly worse, not allowing the athletes to reach striking measures. Kamil Stoch with a jump of 234.5 m managed at best the advantage accumulated in the first half of the race, filing the 10th success of the season in individual competitions of the first level. In second place was Stefan Kraft, arrived at 236 m and able to overtake Daniel Andre Tande 3rd and Robert Johansson 4th. Fifth position for Andreas Stjernen, recovering from the 10th thanks to a 236 m performance and winner of the World Cup flight, with only 7 points of margin on compatriot Johansson and the winner of the day. The Polish, already mathematically triumphant for the second time in the career of the overall World Cup, the first over 30 years to succeed, today it is also imposed in the "Planica Seven", ranking that took into account all the official jumps played in these four days of competitions. Richard Freitag, today 6th, finished in second place the race for the crystal ball, spaced 373 points compared to Stoch and preceded in this ranking Tande 3rd, Kraft 4th, Johansson 5th and Wellinger 6th. In general, the trend of the season has seen a progressive widening of the gap between the top nations and the rest of the world. The ranking for nations was dominated by Norway, which in the season prevailed in 8 first level Team Event and won individually with five different athletes. Negative balance instead for Austria and Slovenia, in difficulty compared to the past. Season overall below expectations also for Italy that has collected 12 points of the World Cup, entering points in the area once with Colloredo and two with Insam. The South Tyrolean was the most competitive athlete, but during the winter he highlighted a disturbing technical regression, as happened to Davide Bresadola. The ski jump will now stop until July, when the Summer Grand Prix will start, the highest summer event of the discipline. At the end of November the winter season will start instead, which will have as main topical moment the world of Seefeld (Aut).
