Timi Zajc irrepressible: bis in Courchevel and the Slovenian class 2000 leader of the Summer Grand Prix

A third stage on the French Alps conditioned by the wind, but there is a very strong young person of all ...

Timi Zajc seems really irrepressible and he also proves it in Courchevel, signing the encore in the Summer Grand Prix after his debut victory in Wisla and the absence of the following week in Hinterzarten. The Slovenian class 2000 literally dominates the HS135, despite Eolo who is certainly not a friend of Ljubno's talent in an evening that saw the host of exception (he grew up in Courchevel, where his father also runs a hotel ) Alexis Pinturault. Zajc takes up the yellow bib of the leader of the summer show of the jump, going up to 200 points and with 28 margin lengths on Karl Geiger, winner at Hinterzarten and Saturday night eighth. And yet, after the first jump, the race seemed to be in the hands of Robert Johansson, already winner of the morning qualifying and with over 5 points of margin on the same Zajc, fourth in mid-trial and decidedly penalized by the wind. The stunning 133.5 measurement signed by the formidable Slovenian in the decisive jump, however, overturned everything for a final score of 277.6 points which earned him success with 4.5 lengths on the same Johansson, at the first podium on plastic as well as the Japanese Naoki Nakamura, third surprise with 269.5 points. It fell from the podium after the first jump Tilen Bartol, which confirms Slovenia on very high levels with its 4th place, just ahead of the re-filling Evgeniy Klimov, perhaps the big favorite on the eve and already on the podium in Wisla, but very unlucky in the first round ended in 12th place. Following the Polish pair formed by Wolny and Kot, then Geiger eighth and to complete the top ten the Norwegians Lindvik and Tande, who can only grow with the passing of the races. The 'Italian? 40th Alex Insam closes, who did not pass the cut after the first jump, while Federico Cecon had already stopped in qualifying. Next stop in Zakopane, from August 16th to 18th with a team trial and an individual race on the Polish HS140, while the women will close the 2019 Summer Grand Prix in Frenstat, Czech Republic.
