This afternoon in Wisla (Pol) the 2022/23 Ski Jumping World Cup opened. In an absolutely unprecedented competition context, good responses came from the blue team. Among the men Bresadola and Insam got the pass to tomorrow's race hitting the qualification without major problems, as well as the Malsiner sisters in the women's field.

Seasonal opening earlier than in the past and with a great novelty. Those who expected snow were in fact disappointed because two "hybrid" races are scheduled in Wisla, ie starting on icy tracks and landing on plastic: a real experiment wanted by the FIS. It is therefore not a question of Summer Grand Prix races, which usually take place between summer and autumn, completely on plastic. The two Wisla races will then award the first points for the crystal ball.
In the early afternoon the women's qualification was staged which saw Ema Klinec prevail over Silje Opseth and Nika Kriznar, with Marita Kramer in fourth place. Good start for the two top Italians, sisters Jessica and Lara Malsiner, who made it past the cut, finishing in 32nd and 38th position. Nothing to do instead for Martina Ambrosi 48a.
In the evening, the spotlight turned on the men's World Cup. As many as 70 athletes were enrolled in the qualification, including two Azzurri: Giovanni Bresadola and Alex Insam, both widely promoted to tomorrow's race, where they will try to assault the points zone. But the great protagonist was undoubtedly Dawid Kubacki, who made an excellent impression, resulting in the best of the lot with a jump of 133 m.
