After the parenthesis of the World Skiing Championships in Vikersund, the World Cup and the duel for the crystal ball between Kobayashi and Geiger are back. We start again from Oberstdorf, where qualification for tomorrow's race took place today. Race-2 is scheduled for Sunday, before the grand finale in Planica.

From now to the end of the season there will be only flying competitions and therefore a lot of entertainment. Between Saturday and Sunday we will start with two individual races in Oberstdorf, while next week we will go to Planica, where two more tests are scheduled, as well as a Team Event. Four hundred points up for grabs for a crystal ball race involving Kobayashi, currently yellow bib and leader of the classification, and Karl Geiger, who is chasing at 58 points.
In a series tormented by the wind, which forced the race direction to numerous and prolonged pauses, the best was Stefan Kraft, able with a jump of 225.5 m made with strong wind behind him to clearly precede Anze Lanisek and the surprising Norwegian Heggli, separated by 11.3 and 14.8 points respectively.
Fourth place for Geiger who today, as far as I can count, won the challenge with Ryoyu Kobayashi, only 13th. Good performance for the new world champion Marius Lindvik, 5th ahead of Hayboeck, Peter Prevc and Kubacki. Great Giovanni Bresadola, who snatched the pass for the race with the 40th score. On the other hand, Alex Insam was eliminated 53rd out of the 66 entered.
