A Otep the first Klbo. Nilsson wins among women

It was clear from the Beitosprint November that she would be only a matter of time for the first victory in the World Cup of Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. For the great day of the 20-year old Norwegian it has come today, with a skating sprint Otepää. To dignify the success of a royal arrival order, with Finn Haagen Krogh the place of honor, Sergey Ustiugov on the lowest step of the podium and Federico Pellegrino quarter.

Already fast in qualifying, Klæbo was really threatened only in the semifinals, when he found himself opposed Pellegrino and Krogh. What prevails is the latter, and only in the last meters, the Norwegian was able to climb over the blue. Overtaking result in any case not decisive, since even Pellegrino was fished for the final act as a lucky loser. The Aosta Valley has been very convincing in his fourth, before giving signs of difficulty in the next round. This impression is confirmed in the final, when Pellegrino has missed the train of the podium on the most difficult climb of the track, the land on paper he prefers. Sindre Skar Bjørnestad and Håvard SOLAS Taugbøl had at that point already raised the white flag, resigning himself to the fifth and sixth place respectively. Krogh and Ustiugov held up enough to force Klæbo to push all the way, without ever questioning its primacy. Eliminated in the quarterfinals the other entered the blue among the top thirty, Simone Urbani. Pellegrino keeps the head of the specialties of the sprint standings with 309 points, but finds himself surrounded Klæbo (289) and Krogh (277). Perfectly in the race for the cup also Skar (265) and Ustiugov (262). It remains very solid the primacy of Martin Johnsrud Sundby in general. Norway remains at an altitude of 1348 with Ustiugov first tracker in 1064 and Matti Heikkinen always third, with 792. MALE SPRINT TL Otepaa - FINAL 1. Johannes Høsflot KLAEBO (NOR) 3: 06:53 2. Sweden, already a leader in the morning, found a serious competitor in the only Maiken Caspersen Falla. 27 cents separated at the end of the two, despite the recovery of the Norwegian on the final straight.
