The domain of Maiken Caspersen Falla has been clear since the qualification, won with margin on all the opponents. After passing both elimination rounds with a certain ease, in the final he had to face the rival for the crystal ball, the Swedish Stina Nilsson and the 'arrembante Natalia Nepryaeva. Initially these three athletes have pulled off the competition but in the second part also Jessica Diggins has returned to the first, returning to fight for a place on the podium.
Falla and Nepryaeva took the lead on the final straight line with a few meters ahead of the other two contenders. In the final meters, all uphill, but there has not been history and the norge has flocked to victory, resisting in the last few meters to the desperate comeback of Nilsson. Instead, the Russian shipwrecked in fourth place, also preceded by Diggins.
When only one World Cup sprint is missing at the end of the season, Falla leads the specialty classification with 48 margin points on Stina Nilsson. In Falun will be awarded only 50 points and then the crystal ball, unless of cataclysms, will end up in the hands of the Norwegian.
Today's fifth place for the Finnish Krista Pärmäkoski, sixth instead the Slovenian Katja Visnar, both never fighting for the podium and reached the finish line with several seconds of separation. The Swedes Dyvik and Falk and the Norwegians Murud, Tiril Udnes Weng and Østberg surrendered in the semi-finals, recovering some points in the general classification at Heidi Weng, today 25th. The two hours are separated by 179 points.
Among the blue ones in the race the best was Greta Laurent, eliminated in the quarterfinals and at the end of the 29th, but they did not pass the qualification Gaia Vuerich and Lucia Scardoni.
