Kl bo devastating in Falun, Pellegrino conquers the place of honor of the day and in the Sprint ranking

This morning the Sprint in free technique opened the Falun race triptych, final act of the 2017-18 World Cup.

As often happened during the winter Klæbo, already mathematically winner of the specialty cup, was unattainable for all the opponents. After having spared both in qualifying and in the first elimination rounds, in the final the Norwegian has decided to attack since the first ascent. Initially, Svensson and Chanavat tried to keep his pace, while Pellegrino stayed a few tens of meters. Klæbo's action was unstoppable and continued on the final straight, in a parade of honor and in total control. Meanwhile behind the Swedish and the French have paid the effort made to try to resist the pace of the tread and in the final were reached and overcome by Federico Pellegrino, today perhaps not at its best, but always very lucid in finding the best behavior of competition. For the Aosta Valley the 6th podium of the season in individual first level competitions and a prestigious place of honor in the sprint ranking, finished behind the Norwegian phenomenon. On the third step of the podium was the French Lucas Chanavat, dominator of his own semi-final and only in the final that he tried to counter Klæbo, an attempt that in the end cost him dear in the fight for the second position. The transalpine preceded Hakola 4th, Svensson 5th and Peterson 6th. Good performance in Italy also for Francesco De Fabiani, winner of his quarter-final and out of the decisive act for only 32 cents. The blue confirmed the good result obtained in Lahti sprint, coming in 7th place. In the semi-finals were also eliminated the Swedes Thorn, Westberg and Halfvarsson, the Russian Bolshunov and the Norwegian Skar. Once the last sprint of the season has been archived, tomorrow the athletes will return to the track for a 15 km alternating time with starting line, the test will start at 2.30 pm.
