Tour de Ski, Nilsson new leader

In spite of an invitation script characterized by tactics, the skiathlon in Oberstdorf (5 km TC + 5 km TL) reversed the ranking out of the first two stages of the Tour de Ski. New leader is in fact Stina Nilsson, today able to win the second victory in three races. First pursuer is Heidi Weng, third at the finish behind Jessica Diggins.

it is therefore the great disappointment of the day the former points leader ingvild flugstad østberg. Norway has paid a dear price for the breaking of a stick at the entrance of the last climb, just as Nilsson earned the head of the group of the best, stronger even than fifteen units, and staged forcing decisive. Under the instigation of the Swedish, by firing squad - until then only assottigliatosi by natural selection, in the absence of determined attacks - it has dropped a squad of four athletes. Only Maiken Caspersen Falla and the aforementioned Diggins and Weng have been able to sustain the pace of Nilsson, who has not surrendered the lead up to the start-finish straight, where he also blunted the attempt of the US recovery. Behind the four, Sadie Bjornsen and Nicole Fessel closed paired in fifth place, with four tenths of Krista Pärmäkoski. Worth noting is the eighth of a revived Charlotte Kalla. Completed the top 10 Anne Kyllönen and Yulia Tchekaleva. 13th position, in the end, for Østberg, separated by 19.2 seconds behind the winner. Very negative on the day of the budget for the Italian team. None of the five athletes involved have marked points: the best was Giulia Stuerz, 32nd, just ahead of Elisa Brocard (33rd). Further back Topranin Virginia De Martin (36th), Ilaria Debertolis (40th) and Lucia Scardoni (49th). The new general classification of the Tour de Ski and so sees Nilsson leads with 4/2 of Weng and 12.4 of Østberg. Pärmäkoski, who won the sprint for second bonus after 3200 meters, is fourth with 38.7 seconds, ahead of Diggins (51.4). Follow Falla, Kathrine Rolsted Harsem (now 18th), Kyllönen, Laura Mononen (21th at the finish line) and Nathalie von Siebenthal (11th). Best of Italian is still Debertolis, but falls from 14th to 30th place. The ranking of the World Cup is always controlled by Weng (786 points), leading to 63 lengths margin of Østberg (723). Pärmäkoski remains third with 554, ahead of Nilsson (481). Falla salt in fifth position, bypassing measuring the absent Marit Bjørgen (424 against 423). SKIATHLON FEMALE OBERSTDORF - FINAL 1.
