At the end of a day by dominating, Sergey Ustiugov won the first stage of the Tour de Ski, the at skating sprint Val Mustair. The Russian has won a case at final Federico Pellegrino, the first podium of the season, and Finn Haagen Krogh.

The Russian had already shown an overwhelming superiority in qualifying, trimming more than four seconds at the same Pellegrino, the first tracker. Primacy also reiterated since a quarter-final of the highest level, which involved the first two in the morning, the third (Lucas Chanavat) and fifth (Emil Iversen). On the occasion, Ustiugov preceded Chavanat, while Pellegrino and Iversen had to wait to qualify for the repechage.

It stopped in the quarterfinals the other blue who qualified among the top 30, Francesco De Fabiani, knocked out prematurely from a fall.
Sundby firmly keeps the lead of the overall World Cup with 590 points. It only 3 Krogh gnawing, that rises to 455. Iversen moved into third place with 354, bypassing Matti Heikkinen, stopped at 329. Always fifth Calle Halfvarsson, with 316.
The ranking of the Tour de Ski naturally sees to Ustiugov lead, followed by Pellegrino (+8.2 seconds) and Krogh (+13.8). Sundby, fourth, makes his compatriot just 3.2 seconds after a test to him unfavorably. 24th De Fabiani, a little more than a minute from the leader.
