Fourth consecutive victory for Norway in the women's Tour de Ski. About Heidi Weng, that after three third places between 2014 and 2016 rises now on the highest step of the podium, winning the success in the final stage.

The 25 year old from Ytre Enebakk, game with the underdogs in the pursuit today, wiped out the 20 seconds that separated her from leading Stina Nilsson before even approaching the 3 km climb to Alpe Cermis. The are then took only a few meters uphill to get rid of the Swedish, in obvious difficulty of such extreme slopes.
Weng has had no need to worry about who was chasing her, indeed gradually expanding their lead, up to print the best time of day by a wide margin over the competition. The closest to 9 km today, still lingered of 38 '', was Elizabeth Stephen, already on the podium twice in the traditional closing event of the Tour.
Nilsson has had to also undergo the Krista Pärmäkoski comeback. The Finnish game with 54 seconds delay from the head, it has filed only six in the initial flat section, but two-thirds of climb is shown on Swedish. After rifiatato for a few moments, a new acceleration has enabled it to climb and immediately outdistance rival. One minute and 37 '', in the end, his detachment from the winner.
The difficult day Nilsson risked being crowned by even loss of the third step of the podium. After having to endure at first to the recovery of Jessica Diggins, who threatened for a few hundred meters to its fourth position, ingvild flugstad østberg has in fact approached the Swedish, bringing in its wake near the finish line. Nilsson has reacted with pride, however, securing the first placement in the top three in his career at the Tour de Ski.
Østberg has therefore had to settle in fourth place, ahead of a Diggins who lost the tails of Norway, he defended without worries fifth place. Over a minute after the American crossed the line Kerttu Niskanen, rising four places on the stage podium, with 46 seconds of delay Weng.
Niskanen was placed behind the other Finnish Anne Kyllönen (fifth time today), in front of Nathalie von Siebenthal, whose tenth part of the day earned him the fourth consecutive top ten. Among the top ten also they ended the 23 year old Austrian Teresa Stadlober, rising from 12th place and just three seconds off the podium stage, and Yulia Tchekaleva, dropped four positions. Charlotte Kalla has instead slipped from ninth to the eleventh place.
The best Italian in the final standings was Ilaria Debertolis, 19th at the finish and 13th in the stage classification. A little further back Elisa Brocard, 21th and 14th in the Tour today. Virginia De Martin Topranin finished 24th, the 20th time today. Some points to Giulia Stuerz, 29th and 28th stage arrival.
The ultimate success in the Tour de Ski course launches Weng escape in the general World Cup. The Norwegian salt in fact to 1351 points, compared to 1043 Østberg. It approaches significantly to the second position Pärmäkoski, now in 1032. Nilsson share is fourth with 845 points. It follows Diggins 694.
