Freeride on Monterosa from Punta Indren

From 3275 meters of peak Indren starts one of the most beautiful off-piste skiing in Monterosa Ski and perhaps in Italy. It is no coincidence that this area is called Freeride Paradise.

From Alagna Valsesia it was easier to climb with the lifts to the Indren glacier, which with its 3,275 meters above sea level, represents the highest point reachable with the ski lifts on Monte Rosa. From the Indren and Lys glaciers, ski mountaineering can be accessed at 15 peaks above 4,000 meters, up to the Punta Dufour, with its 4,634 m, and the Margherita Refuge, at a height of 4,554 m, on the Punta Gnifetti . Instead, turning towards the descent, starting with the appropriate safety equipment and accompanied by a guide, you can descend from the summit by facing a real vertical wall, the Canale dell'Aquila, perhaps the most difficult point of the descent, sandwiched between two walls of rock, which really makes an impression from above. After crossing the canal, you face the second cross road, passing the Orestes refuge at 2700 m. Here the landscape widens, leaving more space for freeriders, who can furrow wide spaces of powder snow and soft panettone.
