Prowinter, the fair dedicated to the mountain sports business, returns from 12 to 14 April

Prowinter proposes itself as a meeting point between the protagonists of rental in mountain resorts.

The twenty-second edition of Prowinter, the exhibition dedicated to the mountain sports business, will take place at Fiera Bolzano from 12 to 14 April 2022. The goal will be to create new channels of dialogue, which can respond to the centrality that the theme of 'rental' has assumed over the last few years. The fair dedicated to the world of winter equipment rental, and not only, will be held at the end of a season that promises to be exciting and full of opportunities for the sector, as confirmed by the first data emerging from the survey aimed at the reference interlocutors conducted by Prowinter Lab, the rental observatory promoted by Fiera Bolzano and active since 2017. Over 45% of hirers declared that the restart on the occasion of the Immaculate Conception was above expectations, an unequivocal sign of the desire of the Italians to get back on the slopes. The positive expectations are also confirmed by the bookings for the Christmas holidays which, according to 57% of the interviewees, are fully average with pre-pandemic trends. As evidence of a propensity towards optimism, 92.4% of respondents then intend to invest in their own structure: the purchase of new equipment at the end of the current season will be necessary for the renewal of the ski park. The forecasts for the 2021/22 season are also cautiously optimistic with 63% of hirers expecting a gradual recovery in the sector and 16% convinced that the season that has just begun will be an opportunity to return to the 2019 numbers. With this further initiative, Prowinter confirms its role as a point of reference in the snow world and is preparing for a return to presence in 2022. As in previous editions, the fair will not only be ski equipment rental, but also and above all a platform for making get to know the world of the mountains at 360 degrees: a fluid and constantly developing reality that offers countless opportunities. Think, for example, of how much the closure of the lifts in the past year has changed the rental landscape, which has seen an exponential growth in ski mountaineering, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing equipment. The future of this trend is still unfolding: renters' forecasts are evenly divided between those who believe it is now stabilized, growing and close to decline. From 12 to 14 April, producers and distributors will return to Fiera Bolzano, where they will have the opportunity to meet potential customers including rental professionals, sporting goods dealers, ski instructors, rescuers, installers, tour operators and professionals from all over Italy. It will be a unique opportunity to explore aspects of common interest, such as the problem of significantly lengthened production and transport times, which represent a challenge for companies and their customers; or again the emerging topic of staffing: the first statistics have in fact signaled a certain disproportion between the growth in the need for workforce and actual availability, as confirmed by about 50% of the hirers interviewed. The spotlight of Prowinter will also be on the future, with the most innovative startups and products in the sector on display, awarded as part of the Startup Award.
