Now we are, winter has arrived. Renting equipment to go skiing is an increasingly common practice also in our country. Despite the majority of the rental structures guaranteeing a quality service, here are ten simple points to recognize the validity of the rental point where we take our skis.

The bridge of the Immaculate has always been the official start of the downhill ski season and all other winter disciplines. Given the great snowfall of recent weeks the mountains will be stormed by an army of enthusiasts, many of whom will rent the equipment. But are we certain that the skis we choose are the right ones and above all reliable and safe? Downhill ski rental, and in general all equipment related to snow sports, is a constantly growing trend and that's why Neveitalia, in collaboration with Prowinter, reports the 10 tips to recognize a quality rental.

HOSPITALITY
Just enter the rental, will the staff welcome you in a reasonable amount of time?
Even if the rental is crowded, just a gesture, a look, to "hook" the customer and reassure him that he will be served as soon as possible. Otherwise, you may have to wait too long or risk being "forgotten".

CHECK IN
By computer or by voice are you asked for data on stature, weight, age, technical level and length of the boot in mm?
They are essential for identifying the setting value of the connections (value "Z") according to the law, to safeguard your safety.

COMPETENCE
Do the rental staff ask about your level, your needs and provide clear and relevant answers to your questions?
If you turn to professionals, you need to be able to trust their experience. Do not hesitate to ask questions and try to understand if they are listening to you.

SKI AND SNOWBOARD
Are skis and snowboards in good condition or, in any case, not too "old"?
Check the aesthetic aspect (it makes you understand if the material has been used many times or not), but check above all what is underneath: if the slab is clean, regular, without holes or scratches and do the same with the edges, continuous, regular, without rust and saw-effect "teeth".

SKI ATTACKS
Are the connections in good condition, clean, with no obvious signs of damage?
Are they properly regulated using the information you provided at check-in?
These are fundamental security tools.
You need to be sure of their operation.

BOOTS
Are the boots in good condition or, in any case, not too "old"?
Check the state of wear of the sole: if the toe and heel are too worn they no longer guarantee the exact fixing in the attachments. The inner shoe must not show evident signs of wear or creases, residual humidity and bad smell. Make sure the rental carries out the sanitizing procedure with special products at each return of the boot.

HELMET
Are the helmets in good condition, with no obvious signs of damage or otherwise not too "old"?
Knowing what you will protect your brain is important. Check that you are given a certified safety helmet, in good repair, with no obvious signs of damage; the measurement must be precise; the adjustable and working closure.
Make sure the rental carries out the sanitizing procedure with special products each time the helmet is returned.

STICKS
Are the sticks in good condition, with no folds or cuts, or, in any case, not too "old"?
Check that there are no folds and cuts on the barrels (to avoid possible breakages), that the handle, the strap and the point are intact, and that you are given the correct size (turn the stick upside down, grip it under the wheel, check an angle of 90 ° at the elbow).

RENTAL AGREEMENT
At the end, will you be issued a rental contract, or a receipt, with your personal data and the value of the attacks?
Make sure that at the end of the rental process you are issued a document / contract / receipt bearing your personal data and the value "Z" for adjusting the attacks. In case of need it is the only proof that establishes whether the correct procedure has been respected or not by the renter.

ASSISTANCE
In case of setbacks due to the equipment, will the rental assist you and solve the problem?
An attack may occur, or you find that the products you have chosen are not compatible with your level. Put the problem and the quality rental will manage it and, within the limits of the possibilities, satisfy you.
