PROWINTER 2010, the ski and snowboarding is thriving

snow report of the Alps and Apennines reveals early season snow conditions more than positive. There is no record, it is true, but the ski season continues so favorable to the operators of mountain tourism. The companies in the industry and manufacturers of products for winter sports should be satisfied with the sell-out fueled by the cold climate and the pattern of sales, despite the continuing instability of the downturn. In reality each sector has different performance. So if the shoe to the mountain is a slight pain, the ski and snowboard rental is in excellent health.

These are the trends that emerge from the 24th edition of the Osem Report 2008 (Socio-Economic Observatory Montelliano) on the district Sportsystem Montebelluna (TV) but also supported by the observation of international markets. The ski and snowboarding has become a large business around the world. This is demonstrated, for example, the turnover reported by the international Skiset in 2008 turnover of 350 million euros, for the work of centralized brokerage agreement between the user and the charterer. Skiset - using the internet - distributes real-time rental requests to 320 "centers" in France, 120 in Italy and 210 from Austria, Switzerland and Spain. Development plans to provide Skiset short landing in the United States. Also good experience of Intersport France (in 2008, +41% on the rental of equipment via the Internet) and Sport 2000 than in 2007, again in France, gave birth to Ski Way, specialty chain now operates with over 60 efficient centers.
But the view that the rental industry helps to increase the industry's global turnover winter is not shared by all. Bruno Cercley, CEO of Rossignol, the inauguration of the modern company headquarters, which took place last December 14 in Saint Jean de Moirans, near Grenoble, said that despite the positive proliferation of rental, which allows tens of skiers to use a single pair of skis, however, is partial cause of the decline in sales of producers.
Opinion may be shared but one thing is certain: the markets evolve over time and the rental system is in transformed in recent years, even in Italy, in a solid consisting of independent chains and serious entrepreneurs, also capable of ensuring positive effects of employment. Insufficient
official data on its business, but the extraordinary success achieved by "Prowinter", the most accepted international exhibition, is the most striking confirmation of the phenomenon. The tenth edition of "Prowinter" will take place in Bolzano 13 to 15 April next. It will be attended, as usual, almost all the companies in the sector and will be the most significant moment of aggregation, as well as a further opportunity for discussion and growth. But this year the appointment of Bolzano will assume a special significance for other categories of operators of the mountain. "Prowinter" 2010, as in every even year, it will take place simultaneously with "Alpitec 2010", exhibition of technology mainly devoted to alpine and winter snow, cable systems, tools for construction and maintenance of the slopes of skis, devices for access control, communications and information technology.
To confirm the already established festivals, primarily devoted to business to business, will contribute to the presence of all major industry associations and the performance of side events of great importance. The events, as usual, will attract many renowned experts in Bolzano and abroad.
The award FIS (International Ski Federation) OC Award 2009/2010 will be a real novelty: for the first time the FIS will award a prize to the best of the organizing committees of the World Cup races. The prize will be awarded to the best committees based on assessments made by athletes, national teams, media, TV commentators and opinion leaders on 13 April 2010 at 16.30.
The calendar of events (which will be finalized over the coming months by the organizers), April 14 at 12:00 pm, also will include awards to athletes who will be featured prominently in the season just ended and the traditional "award" the best European ski 2009/2010. < br> On April 15, 2010, the last day of work to "Alpitec / Prowinter", will host the seventh day South Tyrolean Tyrolean and dedicated lifts. The event, scheduled from 9:30 am until 13:30 pm, cableway carries the signature of the Association of South Tyrol and the Tyrolese specialized group for the cable cars that treat, every two years and in turn, the collective organization of its assembly. Participants will
150-200 operators including important politicians.
