Freeride World Tour: Italian triumph in Japan. Eder and Tricomi on the highest podium

The Hakuba valley is a place where in winter it can snow so often and so strongly that visibility is more often than not an option. And in fact last year, the first in which the FWT competed in the land of the Rising Sun, the organization had been forced to cancel the stage due to too much snow.

But it was not like that today (0:30 am Italian time and 8:30 am in Japan): the conditions were nothing short of perfect, fresh and deep snow - we talk about Japow not at all - and high sun in the blue sky. The race could start on time without complications. Here are all the results: MALE SKIING Markus Eder (ITA) has delighted all those present with his impeccable style that is a perfect fusion of freeride big-mountain and freeski and faithfully reflects his career. First place for our compatriot. Tanner Hall (USA), a true legend of the freeski world, won the second place. Third, the Canadian Tom Peiffer. << I'm satisfied. - says Markus - The conditions were perfect and absolutely not obvious. I'm really happy with my race and being in this place surrounded by the best athletes in the world >> FEMININE SKIING Our super Arianna Tricomi (ITA) has once again shown that pasta is made with a technical line and a nice 360 that earned it the first place. Second the new entry Maude Besse (SUI) with a nice line in the steeper race area not touched by any of the other competitors, third Elisabeth Gerritzen (SUI) << I started this race with a good feeling - says Arianna - and I could not wait to get off my line, I found it really funny, I enjoyed it. I am also very happy to have finally been able to play the race here in Japan, this place is amazing >> MALE SNOWBOARD The legend Travice Rice (USA) has conquered the first place of overbearing with a run decorated with a huge 720 °. Gigi Rüf (AUT) ranked second with honor while third place went to Davey Baird (USA). As usual, a podium with a strong US presence. FEMALE SNOWBOARD First the Russian Anna Orlova with a technical descent and jumps performed with great confidence and control. Second Manuela Mandl (AUS), third the reigning champion Marion Haerty (FRA). The next steps in the program: 2) KICKING HORSE GOLDEN BC, CANADA - TIME TO GET ROWDY - 02/08 FEBRUARY 3) FIEBERBRUNN, AUSTRIA - HOLD THE LINE - 22/28 FEBRUARY 4) VALLNORD-ARCALÍS, ANDORRA - CRUNCH TIME - 02/08 FEBRUARY 5) VERBIER, SWITZERLAND - THE GRANDE FINALE - 23/31 MARCH At this link the complete replay of the race On the official site the complete rankings and many other information
