With an ambitious selection of films in competition, the best mountain film of the season and a varied selection of features previews, opens April 26 the 60th edition of the Trento Film Festival, in conjunction with MontagnaLibri, overview of the publishing mountain with the latest international production of books and magazines on the subject. p>

Along with the 26 works in the international competition traditionally dedicated to documentaries and short films and author of an inauguration with the restoration of The Great White Silence, 1924, directed by Herbert Ponting, with live music by Simon Fisher Turner and The Elysian Quartet, will be the great film to celebrate 60 years of TrentoFilmfestival in an edition that offers an unusual wealth of features perfectly at home in a festival dedicated to mountains. p>
Among
suburbs and luxury ski resorts in Switzerland takes place the opening film L'enfant d'en haut (Sister) by Ursula Meier, fresh Silver Bear at the Berlin festival in 2012 and released theatrically by Theodora while special event of closure, in collaboration with the Udine Far East Film Festival, will be the last work of Johnnie To, one of the fathers and masters of Asian cinema, which has set the unusual romantic comedy Romancing in Thin Air between snow in Yunnan China. It remains in China for One Mile Above Du Jiayi, a spectacular true story of a bicycle journey across majestic Himalayan peaks, and the presence of Asian cinema sugella Gaku (Peak: The Rescuers), Japanese blockbuster directed by Osamu Katayama, taken from manga wilderness of Shin'ichi Ishizuka, published in Italy by De Agostini. Even more spectacular and adrenaline will be in A Lonely Place to Die of English Julian Gilbey, action thriller filmed in the Scottish highlands where the director himself has been the stand-in for the action scenes on the wall, and interpreted by 'Australian Melissa George, former star of TV series Friends and Grey's Anatomy. From one genre to another with the hilarious King of Curling Norwegian Ole Endresen, the first comedy ever made on millimeter winter Olympic sport of curling, digital animation for kids with the Dane The Great Bear by Esben Toft Jacobsen, an example the best auteur cinema with The Loneliest Planet by Julia Loktev with the Mexican star, but at home in Hollywood, Gael GarcÃa Bernal, an account of a trek from the final unpredictable in the beautiful scenery of the Caucasus. Among the events out of competition, including the documentary We Need Happiness of the Russian master Aleksandr Sokurov, Golden Lion last Venice International Film Festival with Faust, who with Alexei Jankowski narrates the encounter between a mysterious traveler and a Russian woman in the mountains of Iraqi Kurdistan. p>
Alongside the International Competition, which this year has 23 Italian premieres of 26 works selected, parallel sections Highlands, Alp & Neighbors ism and Horizons (dedicated to movies, authors and stories from the Trentino-Alto Adige), the reviews organized with partner institutions as Eurorama Nature and Doc, a series of special screenings (including directly from Sundance 2012 The Movement: One Man Joins an Uprising by Kurt Miller with the voice of Robert Redford) and, on the twentieth anniversary of the dissolution of ' Soviet Union, the program "Destination ... Russia," cinematic journey into the most remote and unknown territories of the country, including history, traditions and the slow advance of modernity. p>
