Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte held a new press conference late yesterday evening describing phase 2 and the related new containment measures to counter the spread of Coronavirus, which will start on May 4.

Although we do not yet have the text of the definitive decree available, we can extrapolate from Conte's speech the following, regarding the practice of mountain sports: 1) From May 4 to exercise you can leave your home (therefore the limit of 200 meters previously imposed) .2) It will be necessary to respect the distance of at least two meters from other people if it is a sporting activity, while a meter will be enough for physical activity. within your region of origin for health, work, necessity and to visit your family members. The limitation previously imposed in the municipal area is moved to the regional one, even if sports activity is not explicitly mentioned among the reasons why you can move.4) There does not seem to be an obligation to wear a mask during the practice of individual sporting activity.The chairman of the board did not speak of time limits or territorial limits, which may therefore appear in the Decree when it will be formalized or not. It would appear that the limit of the municipality of residence or domicile does not appear in any area, so it seems likely that if there is a geographical limit to travel for sports, it will be the limit of the region of residence or domicile. go-ahead for collective sports and the opening of sporting goods stores, probably with details that will be defined later. Consider the above premises and knowing that this information could be contradicted with the publication of the actual text of the decree or by the Regional ordinances, from 4 May it should be possible to go to the mountains in the region of residence / home and practice individual sports such as ski mountaineering, trekking, mountain biking, sport climbing. We point out that in Friuli already today, Monday 27 April will be allowed to carry out physical activities outdoors, walking, racing on foot and by bicycle in the territory of your municipality, with the use of a mask and respect for the distance at least one meter long, with the exception of cohabitants. Similar measures should have been issued in these hours also in Veneto and in the province of Bolzano.
