As part of the Paralympic Culture Festival in Milan, the organizing committee of the Games presented a unique four-year project.

The Organizing Committee of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games today presented - within the Paralympic Culture Festival, underway in Milan - the four-year project “Adaptive Winter Sport”.
The initiative, included in the Education program of the path leading to the 2026 Games, aims to promote the increase in sporting practice among people with disabilities, through dedicated courses and campuses. The Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation supports the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP), the Italian Ice Sports Federation and the Italian Winter Paralympic Sports Federation, in a broad plan that provides for the training of new Paralympic sports instructors, the creation of additional professionals in the field of '' welcome and accessible sports tourism and the strengthening of cooperation between the Amateur Sports Associations that deal with Paralympic disciplines.
In addition to the promotion and training activities, the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Games will contribute, in agreement with the CIP and the Federations, to the supply of the sports equipment necessary for the start-up of winter sports. At the heart of the values that animate the Paralympic movement are the principles that the “Adaptive Winter Sport” program intends to promote: we are all equal on the starting line and everyone must be given equal opportunities in accessing sports. "With this project we want to give a first concrete signal of the commitment of Milan Cortina 2026 for the inclusion and promotion of Paralympic values", declares Diana Bianchedi, Games Project Director of Milan Cortina 2026. "The Olympics and even more plus the Paralympics - adds Bianchedi - represent a great opportunity to promote, through sport, a real cultural revolution and thus promote a more inclusive society for all.
In this sense - she concludes - I am sure that the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation together with the CIP, the Federations and the territories can do a very important job to leave a “significant legacy for our country”.
