Italy's adventure in the ski mountaineering world championships in La Massana begins with a trio of medals at the youth level, on an opening day dedicated to sprint races.
The azzurrini close to the world title on two occasions, with Samantha Bertolina and Lisa Moreschini who respectively close in second and third place in the women's Under 20 category, beaten only by the Swiss Caroline Ulrich. Bronze instead in the U18 for Nicole Valli, third behind the French Louise Trincaz and the Spanish Ares Trra Gendrau.
In the men's field, the French Noè Frogier has lined up the Swiss Robin Bussard and Matteo Favre among the Under 20s, with the Austrian Julian Tritscher to impose himself in the Under 18 in front of another Swiss, Jon Kistler, and the German Finn Hosch.
