World ski mountaineering: five other blue medals in La Massana, even if the seniors remain dry

In the Vertical races, world titles for Samantha Bertolina and, among the Espoirs, with Giulia Murada and Sebastien Guichardaz.

After the seven medals of the first day of competitions, the two senior golds and the silver among the juniors in yesterday's relay races, here comes another five satisfactions for the Italian ski mountaineering team at the world championships in La Massana. No medals in the Vertical of the senior category, where the world titles went to the French Axelle Gachet-Mollaret, among women, able to defeat the Swiss Victoria Kreutzer and the Swedish Tove Alexandersson, and to Rémi Bonnet (in front of the German Anton Palzer and the Swiss Werner Marti), but with three world titles for the azzurrini in the youth categories. Italy is great among the Espoirs, with Giulia Murada who preceded her teammate Giorgia Felicetti and the Andorrana Laia Sebastià, while among the men the title goes to Sebastien Guichardaz, gold in front of the Swiss Aurelien Gay and the French Julien Barnaz. Another world title in the Under 20 category, thanks to Samantha Bertolina who beats the American Grace Staberg and the Swiss Caroline Ulrich. Among the males, the Austrian Paul Verbnjak wins ahead of the Spaniard Albert Perez Angles and the Swiss Thomas Bussard. Finally, among the Under 18s the German Antonia Niedermaier wins the women's race, ahead of the Swiss Thibe Deseyn and the French Louise Trincaz. In the men, the champion is the Austrian Nils Oberauer, who precedes the Swiss Jérémy Muriset and the blue Luca Vanotti, who grabs the bronze.
