Livigno is reconfirmed as one of the reference destinations for cross-country skiing already in autumn. Thanks to the snow preserved in summer, through the '' Snowfarm '', from Saturday 23 October it will be possible to ski on the rings of the Lombard location.
Starting from the Forcola and Alpe Vago area, a 30 km long track winds its way, inside we can also find the '' Marianna Longa '', a 5 km long track, with very challenging gradients. Every year in Livigno numerous competitions are held for amateurs and agonists, among which the most famous is the '' Sgambeda ''.
On Saturday, early in the morning, it will be possible to admire the athletes of the national teams of biathlon and cross-country skiing, engaged in pre-World Cup training.
Also in Val Formazza, located in the province of Verbania, from 30 October it will be possible to practice cross-country skiing. With the '' Snowfarm '' 6,000 cubic meters of snow have been preserved, now used to open the first 2.5 km of the Riale slope. This is excellent news for amateurs and agonists, who will already be able to ski on the snow in the Ossola area. "A long and tiring job. But year after year we are able to offer a better service: for us this is a source of great satisfaction" - said Gianluca Barp.

Dolomiti UNESCO, il bilancio di Banca d'Italia: +9% di pernottamenti senza consumare più territorio
Il paper di Banca d'Italia analizza gli effetti sui flussi turistici e sull'ambiente nei 4 anni successivi all'iscrizione delle Dolomiti nella lista dei Patrimoni Mondiali dell'Umanità, avvenuta nel 2009. A fronte di un incremento delle presenze, il numero di strutture turistiche non è cresciuto e quello di posti letto si è ridotto. Ai maggiori flussi turistici non si è associato né un aumento del consumo di suolo né una maggiore produzione di rifiuti, dimostrando il potenziale del riconoscimento UNESCO nel generare benefici economici locali senza compromettere la qualità ambientale, a condizione che siano in atto un efficace coordinamento istituzionale e solide garanzie normative.
