The important collaboration between the two main Aprica lift companies for the construction of the new Magnolta cable car also led to the merger of the two companies, Sita and Siba, which for decades have managed respectively the Palabione and Magnolta side of the Aprichese mountain.

The merger of the plant management companies had been expected for years. In the first days of August, in the office of the notary Schiantarelli of Tirano, the president of Sita s.p.a. and of Siba s.p.a., Domenico Cioccarelli, has completed the deed of merger by incorporation. "The Siba company - says Cioccarelli - has played a decisive role in the Aprica ski area in the last forty years. With three lifts and the relative slopes, Piana Galli, Roccolo, Puncera, Pistone was one of the excellence of the resort". Siba, supported by public investments, is making an important effort by putting in place some renovation projects, new plants and new slopes, investments of several million euros. Siba has always been controlled by the flagship Sita which in the area holds the primacy of the Aprica ski facilities, the boards of directors of the two companies chaired by Cioccarelli have also deemed it appropriate to support these projects, to join forces and optimize all resources, for this reason they proposed the merger by incorporation to the shareholders of both companies at the shareholders' meeting, which was approved by a very large majority. Technically, Sita has provided for a capital increase with the issue of new shares that will be sold to the shareholders of Siba, in the proportion of one new share for every six held.
The stated goal of the merger is to optimize costs, reduce competitiveness and aim for mutual support, helping to create a stronger company. A (new) Sita was born, which has more than 500 members and manages the entire upper Aprica area, with significant public implications.
