The project designed to allow club athletes, from the kids category to national teams, to train in Foppolo from November until May is called "Ski training private Salomon ski stadium".
With the collaboration of Alessandro Gherardi (foreman and gattista for the Foppolo plants), Luca Cattaneo (foreman and gattista for the Foppolo plants) and Claudio Chiozzini (federal coach), the Valgussera Canal was identified - with total exposure to the North West and insertion in the orographic depression towards Foppolo-like track to allow training.
Here the snow persists until almost the arrival of the summer season and the track has good technical characteristics with a length of about 350 meters and an average gradient of 45% which would allow two slaloms or two giants.
The start is located at the Passo della Croce (reachable by jeep service synchronized with the various descents), with arrival at the crossroads with the Montebello track.
The track could also be used for the training of the Alpine Ski World Cup athletes in view of the 2026 Olympics since the area has already hosted some of the greatest athletes such as the Slovak Petra Vlhova and the Swiss Lara Gut
We hope to be able to start the project from next November
