For the start of the 45th winter season of its history scheduled for November 30th 2018 the Dolomiti Superski, the largest ski resort in the world, has invested 90 million euros in new lifts, slopes, snowmaking systems and attractions in quote.

"The customer knows what he finds, when he comes to us" What do the plant engineers do during the summer? Think of winter naturally! After a winter season, you immediately start thinking about the next and the hot summer days are used to complete what was designed to improve customer service in the following season. It plans, studies, implements and tests the news, which will be available to customers from the first day of the winter season: lifts, slopes, snowparks and attractions at high altitude. Dolomiti Superski and its 12 ski areas have always stood out for their constant investments in quality and progress and this year they have remained faithful to this philosophy. The 130 consortium companies have invested a total of 90 million euros in new technologies, more modern processes and innovative attractions in view of the 45th winter season of its history. Approximately 70% has been dedicated to different lifts, tracks and infrastructures, while a third of the total concerns the planned snowmaking, which is one of the fundamental principles of the Dolomiti Superski company strategy. "Today the customer knows what he finds, when he comes to us and expects it. For us it is a duty to do everything to ensure the skiability from the beginning of the season. Over time we have created this expectation in our customers and we are also able to satisfy it ", explains Dolomiti Superski President Sandro Lazzari, who has always been at the forefront as one of the founders of Federconsorzi.
New lifts for more comfort and safetyIn the field of ski lifts, in the last few years in the Dolomiti Superski the trend of replacing old and obsolete plants has been consolidated, with new plants, without expansive trends, to optimize connections and guarantee greater comfort and user safety. In this sense, the major news for the upcoming winter season are also to be interpreted. In Alta Badia the "Roby" two-seater chairlift is replaced by a new automatic 6-seater chairlift, while both at Alpe di Siusi and at 3 Cime Dolomiti, the two-seater chairlifts "Mezdì" and "Mittelstation" will be replaced by two new lifts exaposto automatic homonyms. In San Martino di Castrozza, a triposto chair lift and a four-seater will leave space for the new "Colbricon Express" 10-seater gondola. The same fate touches the plants Sergerwiese and Breiteben of Gitschberg, where will rise the new 10-seater "Ski Express". In many other Dolomiti Superski ski areas, new facilities have been renovated or upgraded or the cabins have been replaced. New slopes for more varietiesA new track "Panoramica Druscié" has been built in Cortina d'Ampezzo, while in Pozza di Fassa, the "Aloch" race track is transformed into a giant slalom race track. In the 3 Cime Dolomiti ski area the new "Signaue II" track is born, while at the Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme, the new "Busabella" slope will welcome skiers at the start of the season. And finally, in the Gitschberg-Jochtal ski area, the new "Wastl Huber" track will be joined by the new "Ski Express" gondola lift. In all the other Dolomiti Superski ski areas, restyling works are carried out, a slight extension and adaptation of many existing ski slopes, completing the long list of projects in view of the new winter season 2018-19.
The snow guarantee is a priority Almost one third of the total investments made by the associated companies of Dolomiti Superski in view of the winter season 2018-19 concerns the planned snowmaking. Over 25 million euros have been dedicated to snowmaking systems, which consist of snow generators, pipe networks, refrigeration towers, pump systems and water collection basins. The technology is constantly developing and contributes significantly to the rational commitment of resources, which are and remain only pure source water, compressed air and electricity. The snow guarantee, in addition to being one of the most important requests from customers, is one of the fundamental business principles in the Dolomiti Superski, where for decades we invest in this sense, wanting to guarantee a very high standard of quality of service, as well as the reliability of having guests find the ski slopes ready for the start of the winter season at the end of November.
High-altitude attractionsAccording to investments purely in terms of skiing, planters also increasingly finance other infrastructures, which encourage the use of lifts throughout the year. Some of these projects are also planned for the coming winter, such as the international museum of mountain photography "LUMEN" with integrated gourmet restaurant at Plan de Corones and the new "Busabella" shelter at Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme. In addition, the development of the WiFi coverage of various gondolas, stations and dedicated areas continues, as well as the replacement of the turnstiles to the plants with the most modern models available, thus concluding this challenging two-year project.
Dolomiti Superski - FactsThe Dolomiti Superski ski resort is located in the Northeast of Italy, straddling the provinces of Bolazano, Trento and Belluno and extends over 3,000 km2 of the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage since 2009. Since 1974, the 12 valleys of the Dolomites are gathered in the Dolomiti Superski consortium, which for many years now is considered the largest ski area in the world. Today the ski resort offers 450 lifts, 1200 km of ski slopes and a large number of facilities dedicated to lovers of fun and freestyle in 12 affiliated ski areas, where half of the offer is directly connected to "ski" at the feet ".
