In this year too arid for our mountains, the expectation for some flour skiing finally lights up. We start from the Vergiate car park, with the exchange of tuna and peas to be sorted in the suitcases. Two women, three guides and three bold young men complete the group. Malpensa airport. A couple of hitches before leaving: first the block at check in, then the seizure of an undefined metal tool.
Snow in Tromso. Thick and dry. Fortunately, the spiked wheels prevent damaging hand brakes. In Laksvatn (or where the heck did we end up?) The sky splits to reveal a green cloud ...
In the morning still snow but not cold, we climb into a dense birch forest and then to the summit of our first trip, Tomasjordtynden 876m of flour. It has been snowing for 2 days, about 20/30 cm in fresh snow. The group climbs excitedly and enthusiastically for a second afternoon trip overlooking a fjord. Piggtinden 735 meters, from here you descend into a sea of flour and birch trees.
