Emanuel Perathoner first and Michela Moioli third in the Cervinia World Cup cross-2 snowboards!

Two fantastic podiums for Italy of the snowboard cross on the second day of races at the Plan Maison in Cervinia.

The qualifications are not disputed so we go completely with two knockout boards, the men start from the sixteenth and the women from the second round. All five teams go through the first round, Michela Moioli and Raffaella Brutto winning their drums, with them Sofia Belingheri, Caterina Carpano and Francesca Gallina. They enter the semi-finals Belingheri and Moioli, eliminated Carpano, Ugly, landed badly on a jump when he was second, and Gallina. Belingheri is fifth in his semifinal and reaches the final from the 7th to the 12th place, Moioli instead goes in the final from the 1st to the 6th place, finishing third in the semifinals. Belingheri in a final elimination is ranked second and then overall eighth behind the Canadian Meryeta Odine completing another good race after yesterday's when he got the same placement. In the final, the Czech Olympic champion of Sochi 2014 Eva Samkova burns the American Lindsey Jacobellis on the finish line and wins her eleventh World Cup victory by placing the opponent at the top of the specialty cup standings. But Michi is now redeemed by closing third, his first podium of the season and 22nd in his career in the World Cup, fourth French Nelly Moenne-Loccoz, fifth Swiss Lara Casanova, sixth the Frenchwoman of Great Britain Charlotte Bankes. In the men's race the first round will pass Omar Visintin, Fabio Cordi, Emanuel Perathoner, Michele Godino and Lorenzo Sommariva, eliminated Stefano Bendotti, Filippo Ferrari, Thomas Belingheri, Matteo Menconi, Tommaso Leoni and Lorenzo Catapano. Only Visintin and Perathoner, who wins their drums, go out to the quarter, outside Cordi, Godino and Sommariva. The two South Tyroleans close first and third their quarter-final and arrive in the semifinals and seem to repeat but if Perathoner closes in front of everyone and goes to the final Visintin falls on the last jump and must settle for fourth place and the small final in which closes third and therefore ninth overall. Final: with an incredible comeback in the last stages the 32 year old from Laion Emanuel Perathoner after a second and two third places finally gets the first victory of the career by beating the American Jake Vedder, at the first podium in the Cup, and yesterday's winner, German Martin Noerl, who remains at the top of the general classification of specialties. Fourth and fifth two champions like the Australian Alex Pullin and the American Nate Holland, the German sixth Konstantin Schad. The next round of the snowboard cross is on the 8th, 9th and 10th of February on the German snow in Feldberg.
