Michela Moioli leads Italy for the double inaugural stage of the snowboarding World Cup in Cervinia

In Breuil-Cervinia everything is ready for the double date with the snowboardcross World Cup scheduled for 20 to 22 December, the first stage of the season with one more race than initially expected to recover the one canceled in Montafon.

The group of Italians involved is very big, sixteen, 11 men and 5 women: Thomas Belingheri, Stefano Bendotti, Lorenzo Catapano, Fabio Cordi, Filippo Ferrari, Michele Godino, Tommaso Leoni, Matteo Menconi, Emanuel Perathoner, Lorenzo Sommariva, Omar Visintin, Sofia Belingheri, Raffaella Brutto, Caterina Carpano, Francesca Gallina and the Olympic champion and winner of the specialty cup Michela Moioli. The athletes will compete on track 26, inserted in the ski area of the IndianPark, one of the biggest snowparks in Italy and a destination frequented by snowboarders. The track, 1,300 meters long (with 200 meters of difference in height), has parabolic (8 in all) and jumps (5) well correlated with each other, making it very spectacular even for those assisting from the edge of the track. The competition program is very dense. It starts already from Wednesday 19 December, with training from 9.30 to 14.00. Starting from 9.30 am on Thursday 20th, qualifiers will begin to enter the finals on Friday 21st, which will start at 11.30 and where 48 men and 24 women will be admitted. Saturday 22 there will be the qualifications of the second race from 9.15 and the final stages from 11.40.
