At the paddock of the eagerly awaited World Championship event at the “temple of speed”, the Italian biathlon great was also there, telling Sky Sport about her Formula 1 excitement and how hard she has been working just a few months after retiring. “I have a ton of things to do, I like challenging myself.”

Countless stars surrounded the main protagonists of the day: the best in the world, who will contest the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza from 3:00 p.m.

And in the paddock of the Italian race, Federica Brignone had already appeared yesterday, presenting Pierre Gasly with the wheel rim symbolizing pole position. Today, Alberto Tomba, Arianna Fontana and Jannik Sinner arrived, while Dorothea Wierer had already been a guest at various events since the start of the weekend. A Red Bull athlete herself, she spoke during the pre-race show on Sky Sport also—and above all—about the World Championship leader, Kimi Antonelli.

“It’s always great here; this is my second time in Monza after six or seven years. You meet new people and see how the drivers and staff work”—said the Italian star, who left biathlon after her final race literally at home, the Olympic mass start on February 21 in Antholz—“These are details you don’t see on TV. What fascinates me most is how the athlete handles the pressure, and the other day I had the honor of meeting Kimi.

I have to say I was left speechless, because he’s a simple, sunny and genuine guy, but even when you see him on stage he seems completely calm. And yet he must be under incredible pressure. I’m amazed by how he manages everything and makes time for everyone; he’s truly fantastic.”

As for her current and future plans, “Doro” explains: “I do so many things; I’m on the road more now than I was as an athlete. There are some Hyrox events for Red Bull, consulting for a clothing brand, I’m still a member of the Finance Police and I’ll be working in television covering biathlon. It’s almost too many things, but I like challenging myself.”
