Biathlon: Fillon Maillet - Jacquelin, French double in the pursuit of Hochfilzen

Another day of French and Norwegian colors in Hochfilzen with the victory of Quentin Fillon Maillet in front of Emilien Jacquelin and Johannes Dale.

At the first polygon, Johannes Dale and Fabien Claude pay a first and third penalty from yesterday's Sprint, Quentin Fillon Maillet takes command of operations with a 7.8 advantage over Dale, 15.8 over Jacquelin and 17.8 over Johannes Boe. Sturla Laegreid is at 30.5 with Claude, Tarjei Boe and Sebastian Samuelsson complicating his race by going long in a corner while he was with Boe and Jacquelin. The gaps are reduced in the second lap with Dale reaching Fillon Maillet while Johannes Boe and Jacquelin compete in pairs and present themselves in the second shooting session with only 7 seconds to recover. The first 4 are not wrong: Quentin Fillon Maillet comes out with 5.4 on Dale, 9.1 on Jacquelin and 11.5 on Boe; Laegreid and Samuelsson also go to the ground for 10/10 and lap half a minute behind the leaders, followed by Leitner, Tarjei Boe, Claude (2 errors for him) and Christiansen at 50 seconds. Fillon Maillet adds a few seconds to his advantage in the third lap and continues to shoot like clockwork, like compatriot Jacquelin who comes out of the first range on his feet with 11.1 to recover from his teammate. Samuelsson makes no mistake and finds himself in third position at 37.2 with Dale 4 seconds behind after a mistake. Claude also makes up positions, fifth at 50.2 ahead of Laegreid and Johannes Boe who pays a two-round penalty and is 57.7 from the leader. The French couple in command made no mistake and launched themselves towards a French brace with about ten seconds still ahead of Fillon Maillet; in the fight for third place the only one not to make mistakes is Johannes Dale, third at the start of the fourth lap at 43.6, Johannes Boe makes a mistake and finds himself with Laegreid, Claude and Guigonnat (20/20 today) at 1.20.4 from the pair head Quentin Fillon Maillet gets his fourth career victory with 25.5 ahead of Emilien Jacquelin and 49.5 over Johannes Dale.
