An excellent Thomas Bormolini (0 + 1) stages a fraction of the launch to be framed that allows Italy to reach the first shoulder-to-shoulder change with Eric Lesser's Germany (0 + 2) and with a 5-second advantage over Simon Desthieux (0 + 2), Benjamin Weger (0 + 1) and Christiansen (0 + 1). Peter Femling's Sweden (0 + 2) is tenth at 38.7, Russia with Streltsov (0 + 3) twenty-second at 1.05.6.
Five quickly find themselves dictating the law in the first lap of the second stage with the German Doll and Lukas Hofer keeping the pace high. In the session on the ground, the blue is perfect and takes the lead with a 6-7 second lead over Fillon Maillet and Finello, 11 over Doll. Johannes Dale pays a penalty lap and is fifteenth at 1.18.9, Ponsiluoma also turns at 1.28.7; among them Eliseev's Russia. A perfect Lukas Hofer (0 + 0) drags Italy to an advantage of 18 seconds in the middle of the game over Doll (0 + 2) and Fillon Maillet (0 + 0); Johannes Dale (1 + 3) is fourth at 1.13.7 with Finello's Switzerland (0 + 2). Ponsiluoma (1 + 3) is tenth at 1.38.5, Eliseev (0 + 4) fifteenth over two minutes.
On the ground Giacomel has to use two recharges while Fabien Claude and Arnd Peiffer use only one and the three find themselves together with Tarjei Boe who files for about twenty seconds. Tommaso Giacomel (0 + 2) does not let himself be intimidated and scores a 5/5 standing by detaching Claude (0 + 2) and Peiffer (0 + 2) who have to resort to a recharge, Tarjei Boe frustrates part of his return with very long release times fighting with the gusts of wind. The twenty year old from Primiero pays a little in the third lap and is overtaken by Claude and Peiffer. At the last change Germany has a 6.4 advantage over France, Italy is third at 24 seconds, Tarjei Boe (0 + 0) takes Norway to 55 seconds.
Philipp Horn collapses in the standing session where he pays a penalty of three laps while in the second lap Johannes Boe reaches Windisch and Jacquelin flies. The Frenchman (0 + 2) puts the seal on the first victory of the French relay in Oberhof while Johannes Boe (0 + 0) drags Norway to second place after the disastrous fraction of Dale. Windisch (0 + 2) manages the blue podium.
At the finish line France (0 + 6) precedes Norway (1 + 4) by 4.2 seconds and Italy (0 + 5) by 1.06.6.
