After winning the last Sprint of 2020 in Hochfilzen, Tiril Eckhoff also wins the first race of 2021 of the Biathlon World Cup, the Sprint of Oberhof.

Perfect at the shooting range, Eckhoff is unleashed on skis where she pays 2 seconds to the Belarusian Kruchinkina and only French promise Julia Simon and compatriot Marte Roeiseland manage to keep up with her; we are witnessing a performance of absolute quality that allows her to precede the finish line by 29.6, an important viaticum for the pursuit of tomorrow, the Swedish Hanna Oeberg (0 + 0).
In the fight for third place, the Austrian Lisa Hauser (0-1) takes the first individual podium of her career in the World Cup, closing at 40.2 from the winner and resisting the overbearing return of Julia Simon (2- 0), fourth at 44.3.
Dorothea Wierer (1 + 1) closes in a sad thirtieth position at 1.52.3
