After the break for the Christmas holidays, the Biathlon World Cup resumes from Oberhof (Ger), where tomorrow the women's Sprint at 11:30 and the men's Sprint at 14:15 are scheduled. Eight blues in the race: seasonal debut for Tommaso Giacomel.

In the women's field there will be only three Italians at the start: Irene Lardschneider (20), Lisa Vittozzi (51) and Dorothea Wierer (80). The tactical choice of the technical staff who decided to field both top athletes in the third group was clear, even if a light snowfall is expected for tomorrow in Oberhof. Instead, the Scandinavians opted for the second group: Eckhoff (16), Hanna Oeberg (26), Elvira Oeberg (30) and Marte Roeiseland (40). The Germans and Alimbekava have also followed in the footsteps of the Italians and will have quite high numbers. The Belarusian will compete with 81, immediately after Dorothea, while Herrmann and Preuss will have 54 and 72 respectively.

If Italy will be present in reduced ranks among the women, the men's team will instead appear in Oberhof in full. Tomorrow’s Sprint will be the seasonal debut for Tommaso Giacomel (92), who has been absent so far due to Covid. Together with him there will be Dominik Windisch (7), Didier Bionaz (29), Lukas Hofer (45) and Thomas Bormolini (68).
Among the favorites the Swedes have chosen to start in the first group and will have low bibs: Samuelsson (2), Ponsiluoma (5). Norway, France and Germany have instead chosen the second group for their top athletes. Dale will therefore be at the start with 27, Jacquelin with 35 and Johannes Boe with 38. The leader of the overall World Cup standings will precede Doll (40), Fillon Maillet (43), Peiffer (48) and Laegreid (51) . With higher numbers, attention to the norge Bakken (56), Tarjei Boe (58), Christiansen (81) and the German Schempp (89).
