The Norwegian quartet established itself with a large margin over Germany 2a and Russia 3a.

In the first half Lukas Hofer started immediately with his foot on the accelerator to try to make selection. After finding the "zero" on the ground, in the second round the blue took charge again of marking the rhythm, without however forcing too much. In the second series he then missed a couple of targets but promptly remedied with refills, closing his fatigue in second place behind Russia. In general, the fraction was very balanced, so much so that 10 nations changed within 10 ".
Under the impulse of Quentin Fillon Maillet, France, Russia and Italy tried to escape, gaining about ten seconds against the pursuers. Giuseppe Montello with a quick five in five in the first series took the lead and, shortly after the intermediate, was joined by the Austrian Eder, the Norwegian Christiansen and the same Fillon Maillet. The latter stretched in the final stretch of the lap and in the standing series it was fast and precise. Having left the stand with a 3 "advantage, in the final round he was then joined by his Norwegian rival and the two passed through the change in the lead. In third place was Sweden with a 19 "delay, ahead of Austria (+0: 28). Germany 7a and Russia 13a passed even further back. Montello, after using three standing refills, slipped to 12th place in a minute.
France and Norway competed in parallel until the first series of the third stage, where Tarjei Bø was perfect, while Simon Desthieux had to take advantage of a recharge. During the second lap the Norwegian progressively gained ground, but he finally took off at the end of the second polygon, when the transalpine had to start towards the penalty lap. The eldest of Bø then handed over the baton to his brother with a 43 "advantage over France and Germany and 1'04" over Sweden and Slovenia. Thomas Bormolini, after being perfect on the ground and having used three refills in the second series, closed in 10th place.
At the opening of the last leg Johannes Bø gained further against the pursuing couple and the hopes of victory of the opponents vanished after the first series, closed by the Norwegian champion without errors. In the standing series Bø tried to put some uncertainty into the race, making mistakes three times but making up for refills. For Norway, the fourth gold came in as many team races held in these world championships.
Behind Doll and Fourcade they arrived at the decisive shooting range. The German missed only one target and got himself into the silver medal, the French instead went into crisis and had to go through the penalty ring twice. To take advantage of it was Loginov, which brought Russia to bronze.
