As per regulation, 30 athletes will be at the start, the first 25 of the general classification of the World Cup plus the best 5 of the current stage. Doubt the Swede Nelin, who has already skipped Sprint and Relay.
For Italy, Lukas Hofer, currently 13th in the overall standings, and Windisch, who qualified for Mass thanks to a good 22nd place in the Sprint, will be at the start. Dominik will finally be able to test himself in his favorite format and look for a result that gives morale in view of the home stage. Lukas, on the other hand, proved to be in top condition on skis and is aiming for the first podium of the season.

Johannes Boe sets off to win his tenth career victory in the format, a significant milestone, but missed in the line start of Hochfilzen, the only one so far disputed, when Peiffer won ahead of Ponsiluoma and Tarjei Boe. An important race also for Sturla Holm Laegreid, first of all to stay in the wake of Boe in the overall standings and secondly to close the circle and be able to win in all four formats within a month and a half. A record that would be sensational for a novice boy in the World Cup. The obligatory favorites are the Norwegians but beware of surprises, especially after two weeks of effort on the demanding Oberhof track.
