The first detailed version of the 2017-'18 World Cup calendar was published on the Ibu website. It begins on November 26 and ends March 25.

On the location plan there are two long-term changes. The main novelty is the return of Annecy - Le Grand Bornand's French appointment after 4 years. Additionally, at least for now, a stop is scheduled in Tyumen, Russia, canceling the past winter following Cio's requests, based on McLaren report conclusions.
It remains to be understood what the intentions of the Ibu are about, as it can not be ruled out that - as happened in 2016 - 17, the event could be revoked to the Russian Federation and assigned to other locations.
Instead they go from Nove Mesto and Pokljuka. Lastly, Hochfilzen, the World Theater in February 2017, returns to its "natural location" in December.
As for the number of first level races, one change is noted. We will have less tracking and more relay. However, it has been said of "first tier" as the competitions worthy for the Crystal Ball will be less than the last three seasons.
In fact, the Olympic Games will not award points for the overall World Cup standings, which will be based on "only" 21 appointments (8 sprints, 7 chases, 4 mass start, 2 individual).
