The end of the career of a legend of the bobsleigh world, Francesco Friedrich, will almost certainly come at the same time as the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games; this was announced by the German champion himself at the "Boballianz Pirna".
During the event, the world bobsleigh star was awarded and celebrated for the successes of recent years, as it had not been possible to do so in previous years due to the pandemic. Friedrich, during the last Olympic review in Beijing, won the gold medal in both the two-man and four-man bobsleigh, confirming himself as one of the strongest hobbyists of all time.
The German champion, who turned thirty two weeks ago, thanked the sponsors who followed him and who will follow him until 2026, also partially explaining future projects. Friedrich was given a helmet and a plaque to celebrate his latest Olympic achievement; There was also no shortage of thanks for the other members of the Teutonic crew, also present at the event staged in Pirna, the birthplace of Friedrich.
"In Cortina, in 2026, it will be a great opportunity to celebrate the end of my splendid career" - with these words Friedrich hinted that presumably his racing history will end in that year.
