The Olympic bobsleigh season for Germany starts in the worst way: Hans-Peter Hannighofer, born in '97, as well as one of the best emerging bobsleigh riders, will not take part in the 2021/2022 World Cup and the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022 due to a bad hamstring injury.
Hannighofer, who will turn 24 in October, was injured during a pre-season test, staged on the Oberhof home track. According to the doctors of the German national team, surgery and even a break of several months will be necessary to treat the tear.
This injury represents a bad loss for Germany, as Hannighofer had been bronze medal in 2-man bobsleigh at the last World Championships in Altenberg 2021, despite having never been on the podium in the World Cup before, as well as being the world champion. Junior in office.
