With the retirements of Margis and Roediger, the German champion wasted no time and, through the German federation, announced that the sprinter Felix Straub (gold in the 4 x 200 m world championship 2021) will be part of his team: the Games of the 2026.

The dominator of the last decade of the world bobsleigh, the German Francesco Friedrich, has just added a very important piece to his team. After the heavy farewells of the loyal Thorsten Margis, with whom Friedrich has shared numerous successes, and of Alexander Roediger, sprinter Felix Straub will join his team.
The 25-year-old from Leipzig, in 2021, was part of the German track and field team that won gold in the 4 x 200 m you World Championships in Chorzow, so this is a level graft for Friedrich's team: "For winning the gold in Cortina in 2026 we need an added value like him, I am confident about the work we will do in this four-year period "- declared Friedrich himself.
Another important step in the ever more constant collaboration between the German bobsleigh federation and the athletics federation. Before Straub, the sprinter Alexandra Burghart had been decisive in winning the silver medal at the last Beijing Games for driver Mariama Jamanka.
Straub is currently training in Leipzig and meets with the rest of the Friedrich team on a weekly basis, after which the sprinter will devote himself entirely to bobsleighing. Will the new purchase succeed in making Friedrich's team even more unbeatable? The various guts will tell us this next winter, but given the arrival of this new brakeman and Friedrich's abilities in the push phase, it is reasonable to expect an even heavier dominance.

Benjamin Karl fa marcia indietro: il campione olimpico del PGS torna allo snowboard verso il Mondiale di casa
Dopo aver annunciato lo scorso marzo il ritiro dall'attività, fresco del leggendario bis olimpico, il 40enne fuoriclasse austriaco aveva avviato un progetto legato alla bicicletta, sua enorme passione, con l'obiettivo dei Giochi del 2030 nel ciclocross (che non è stato inserito nel programma per la rassegna sulle Alpi francesi). Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
