Yesterday Johannes Lochner ended the streak of consecutive victories of his compatriot Francesco Friedrich. Today, the current leader of the World Cup standings, he immediately regained the top step of the podium, winning right in front of Lochner.

The weekend in Igls brought enormous satisfaction to the German bobsleigh team. In addition to Laura Nolte's victory in the women's 2-way bobsleigh, the successes of Johannes Lochner and Francesco Friedrich arrived in the two men's races.
In yesterday's test Lochner temporarily interrupted the hegemony of his compatriot Friedrich (winner of the first four races of the season), winning the race with an advantage of thirty cents. On the podium also the Latvian Oskars Kibermanis, 3rd with forty-seven cents. The two Azzurri are back in the race: Mattia Varriola finished 16th, with a delay of '' 1 '' '' 67, while Patrick Baumgartner finished the test 17th, trailing by '' 1 '' '' 80 from the winner.
Today, however, the first two positions have reversed: Francesco Friedrich took his revenge, beating Johannes Lochner by just sixteen cents; Oskars Kibermanis is confirmed in 3rd place, with a delay of '' ''35 from Friedrich. Slightly improves compared to yesterday's test Patrick Baumgartner, 14th at '' 1 '' '' 47, Mattia Varriola worsens by one position and ends today's race in 17th place, with a delay of '' 1 '' '' 57 from the top of the standings.
With today's success, Friedrich is firmly confirmed in command of the overall World Cup standings, having won five of the six races held.
