The Azzurri are already at work in Sigulda for the opening of the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cup

Six have been called up for the bobsleigh races that will open the season on the weekend of 21-22 November, while four are the standard bearers of the national team for the opening of the skeleton.

The Bobsleigh World Cup begins on the weekend of 21-22 November. It will be the Latvian gut of Sigulda to host the first 2-man bobsleigh race on Saturday, and the women's one on the same day. On Sunday 22nd it will be the turn of another men's 2-a-side bobsleigh competition, as the international federation has canceled all 4-a-side bobsleigh races. And in Sigulda, the athletes will also stay the following weekend with an identical program. For Italy, 6 people will take part in the first seasonal competitions, called by the director Omar Sacco. Patrick Baumgartner will lead the blue team, also made up of Costantino Ughi, Lorenzo Bilotti, Mattia Variola, Mattia Castellazzi and Alex Pagnini. The technicians on the field will be Simone Bertazzo, Manuel Machata, Giovanni Mulassano and Luca Aletti. The group has already arrived in Latvia for training, to return at the end of the two scheduled stages, which is November 30th. The long trip to Latvia has also begun for the blue skeleton team, culminating with the first World Cup rounds in Sigulda, set for men and women on Friday 20 and Friday 27 November. The technical director Maurizio Oioli has summoned four athletes: they are Amedeo Bagnis, Mattia Gaspari, Valentina Margaglio and Alessia Crippa, who will be assisted by the technicians Andrea Gallina and Joseph Luke Cecchini. The calendar will subsequently propose the stages of Innsbruck, where they will compete on Friday 11 and Friday 18 December, on the eve of the Christmas break.
