After having organized the Italian Summer Bobsleigh and Skeleton Championships last August, the Bob Club Cortina continues its commitment to promoting competitive bobsleighing.

The historic Ampezzo club headed by President Gianfranco Rezzadore, has in fact decided in agreement with the Italian Federation of Winter Sports to set up an ambitious recruitment project aimed at beefing up the youth bobsleigh sector.
The goal of the Bob Club Cortina is to select young promises from other sports to be introduced to the world of bobsleigh, in order to bring new practitioners to bobsleigh and skeleton and at the same time lay the foundations to build a team in view of the Ganwon 2024 Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
In this regard, the club's board has decided to organize a selection test aimed at young people of different age groups on Sunday 26 September at 10.00, at the Antonella De Rigo sports center located in Cortina d''Ampezzo in locality Fiames. For the years 2003, 2004 and 2005 new possible athletes will be identified to start the bobsleigh and skeleton disciplines, while for the boys born in 2006 the goal is much more ambitious, because it is a question of selecting the eligible candidates for the YOGs. 2024.
The selection test is open to all girls and boys belonging to the age groups mentioned above, with good athletic training and with a medical certificate of good health issued by the general practitioner.
The selection will include a speed test on 30 flat meters, the front throw of the medicine ball or the weight, and the jump into the hole starting from a standing start with even feet. Those who pass the test will be included in a first group that will face the first ice descents in the winter months in Bludenz as a pilot, along the new track dedicated to beginners.
