China is preparing to face the first home winter Olympics in its history and, of course, will leave nothing to chance in view of the five-circle event.
In recent days the new bob sleighs have been presented, for two and four seats. According to some internal sources it is a very fast bob, capable of reaching speeds close to 160 km / h, never reached in the history of this sport. In addition, the Chinese team will be able to count on the surprise effect, since during the last season it did not take part in any international competition but was the only nation that was able to test Yanqing's Olympic gut.
About a dozen Chinese companies from the automotive and aerospace sectors took part in the project and developed the product in less than two hundred days.
Satisfaction from Yang Wenli, director of project management at one of the most important Chinese automotive companies (China FAW Group Corporation): "We have created a product that meets the needs of athletes. The most important thing is that the aerodynamic tests have been passed. ".
"A fascinating challenge for us, given the limited time and the tricks we will have to implement in the coming weeks" - said Jia Yi, member of the China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics.
Zhou Yu, of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, stressed the importance of the materials used to make the sleds: "All the materials that were used for the sleds were made in China, such as carbon fiber composite. level T800, which has even evolved in the aerospace sector ".
