A world championship with three top ten, historical results and Italian records, for an Italian national team that is definitely the protagonist in Montpellier.
The World Figure Skating World saw Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri close to the medal, obtaining the best result of their careers with the 4th place in dance: the blue couple already in the front row in Beijing 2022, also signed the new national record with 209 , 83 pt, closing behind only the unbeatable Papadakis-Cizeron, who signed an encore gold at home after the Olympic title, and the two US couples formed by Hubbell-Donohue and Chock-Bates.
Never two Italians had finished in the same top ten of a World Cup in the men's individual competition and, this time, Daniel Grassl, 7th, and Matteo Rizzo who finished 10th succeeded: of course, the Russians were missing and two absolute champions such as Nathan Chen and Yuzuru Hanyu, with some regrets for the free program of the South Tyrolean, not far from the medal after the short, but the balance also in this case can only be positive, while Japan went to take the title with Shoma Uno which, finally, has dispelled the taboo of world gold.

Dopo aver annunciato lo scorso marzo il ritiro dall'attività, fresco del leggendario bis olimpico, il 40enne fuoriclasse austriaco aveva avviato un progetto legato alla bicicletta, sua enorme passione, con l'obiettivo dei Giochi del 2030 nel ciclocross (che non è stato inserito nel programma per la rassegna sulle Alpi francesi). Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
