Biography: Alexander Schmid, born in 1994 in Oberstdorf, is Germany’s giant slalom leader and one of the world’s top technical skiers. On the World Cup circuit he has earned several podiums in giant slalom and parallel events, underlining his consistency at the highest level. The turning point of his career came at the 2023 World Championships in Courchevel/Méribel, where he became world champion in parallel giant slalom, a historic individual gold for German men’s skiing. Already an Olympic medallist in the team event at Beijing 2022, Schmid combines precise edge control, clean lines and the ability to carry high speed all the way to the finish. (aggiornamento: )
